Delete your account & data

Summary. You can delete your Life Index account and all associated personal data at any time. This page explains the two ways to do it and what gets deleted.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (recommended)

Open the Life Index app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device.
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
Confirm by entering your password.
Your account is marked for deletion immediately and permanently erased within 30 days.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can no longer sign in, or you don't have the app installed any more:

Email us at support@life-index.com from the email address linked to your account.
Use the subject line "Account deletion request".
We verify the request and confirm by reply within 5 business days.
All your personal data is permanently erased within 30 days of confirmation.

What gets deleted

Your account profile (email, password hash, display name, settings).
All journal entries, goals, habits and notes you created in the app.
Your in-app activity, streaks and progress data.
Marketing-list subscription, if any.
Cached device data and analytics tied to your account ID.

What we are required to keep (and for how long)

Under UAE accounting and tax law, and equivalent obligations elsewhere, we may need to retain a minimal set of records even after account deletion:

Order records for purchases of the book, journal or in-app subscriptions — kept for up to 7 years (invoice number, date, amount, VAT) for tax and audit purposes. These records do not contain your journal content.
Anonymised security logs — kept for up to 90 days for fraud prevention and incident response. They are not linked to your identity.

Cancel a paid subscription before deletion

Deleting your Life Index account does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. To stop billing:

iPhone / iPad: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Life Index → Cancel.
Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Life Index → Cancel.
