This Privacy Policy is issued by LIFE INDEX L.L.C-FZ (“Life Index”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a Limited Liability Company (Free Zone) registered in the Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, U.A.E. under licence No. 2646321.01 (formation No. 2646321).

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to:

• The website at https://life-index.com and any subdomains;
• The Life Index mobile application for iOS and Android (the “App”);
• Purchases of the Life Index book, journal or bundle, and related customer support.

3. Data we collect

3.1 Data you give us directly

• Contact details — name, email, phone number and, where relevant, shipping address — when you order a product, contact us, or subscribe to updates.
• Account data — email address and a hashed password if you create a Life Index account in the App.
• Journal content — diary entries, goals, habits and notes you write inside the App. This content is yours; we treat it as confidential and never use it for advertising.
• Support correspondence — the content of emails or messages you send to us.

3.2 Data collected automatically

• Device & diagnostic data — device model, operating system version, app version, language, crash logs and basic performance metrics. This data is used only to keep the service working and is not linked to your identity where we can avoid it.
• Usage data — which screens were opened and aggregated interaction counts. We use this only to improve the product.
• Cookies & similar technologies — on the website only. See our Cookie Policy.

3.3 Data we do not collect

• We do not collect precise location data.
• We do not collect health or biometric data from device sensors unless you explicitly connect them.
• We do not use your journal entries to train third-party AI models.
• We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. Life Index is intended for adults; the minimum age to create an account is 16 (or higher where required by local law).

We share personal data only with service providers (sub-processors) that help us run the business, under written agreements (Data Processing Agreements / GDPR Art. 28) that require them to protect your data and process it only on our instructions.

5.1 Current sub-processors

For an up-to-date list of named sub-processors, email support@life-index.com. We will notify you of material changes to this list before they take effect.

5.2 Other recipients

• Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose data (for example, tax filings, court orders or lawful police requests).
• Acquirers — in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with continuity of this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train third-party AI models.

6. International transfers

We operate from the United Arab Emirates. Our providers are based in the United Arab Emirates, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and the Russian Federation (the website is hosted by JSC RU-CENTER / nic.ru). Where personal data is transferred outside your country of residence, we rely on appropriate safeguards — Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, equivalent protections required by UAE PDPL, and contractual confidentiality and security obligations with each provider. The data submitted through this website (contact-form messages) is limited to your name, email, optional phone number and the content of your message; in-app journal content is stored separately on the App backend, not on the website host.

7. How long we keep data

• Order records — kept for up to 7 years to comply with UAE accounting and tax laws.
• App account & journal content — kept while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion (soft delete), then permanently erased. See how to delete your account.
• Support emails & contact-form messages — kept for up to 24 months after the last contact, then deleted.
• Marketing subscribers — kept until you unsubscribe, then removed from active lists.
• Server & security logs — IP address, user-agent and basic request metadata may be written to short-lived server logs for fraud prevention, debugging and incident response. These logs are retained for up to 90 days and are not used for marketing or profiling.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (UAE PDPL, EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws), you have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate data;
• Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”);
• Restrict or object to certain processing;
• Receive your data in a portable format;
• Withdraw consent at any time;
• Complain to your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email support@life-index.com. We respond within 30 days.

9. In-app privacy (iOS and Android specifics)

For transparency to Apple App Store and Google Play users:

• Apple Privacy “Nutrition Label” categories we declare: Contact Info (email), User Content (journal/goals/habits), Identifiers (anonymous app instance ID), Diagnostics (crash & performance data). None are used for tracking.
• Google Play Data Safety: we declare the same categories, mark all data as encrypted in transit, and confirm a data-deletion mechanism via the App, by email, or via our public deletion page at https://life-index.com/delete-account.php.
• Account & data deletion: you can request deletion from the App (Settings → Account → Delete account), via the public web page /delete-account.php, or by emailing support@life-index.com.
• App Tracking Transparency (iOS): we do not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies and we do not call requestTrackingAuthorization.
• Third-party SDKs in the App: we ship a minimal SDK set — payment SDKs provided by Apple (StoreKit) and Google (Play Billing) for in-app purchases, plus a privacy-respecting crash & performance diagnostics SDK. None of these SDKs are used for advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not bundle Facebook SDK, AdMob, Branch, Adjust, AppsFlyer or similar attribution / ad SDKs.
• Apple Privacy Manifests: the App ships with a PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy manifest declaring the required-reason APIs and tracking domains used. The manifests of bundled third-party SDKs are aggregated as required by Apple.

10. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for sensitive fields, role-based access controls for our team, and regular backups. No method is 100% secure, but we take this seriously.

11. Children

Life Index is intended for adults. The minimum age to create a Life Index account is 16 (or higher where local law requires a higher age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We will post any material changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are significant, we will notify you by email or inside the App.
