Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Life Index website, the Life Index mobile app, and any products or services we offer. By using the website, installing the App, or buying a product you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who we are

The service is provided by LIFE INDEX L.L.C-FZ, a Limited Liability Company (Free Zone) registered in the Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, U.A.E. under licence No. 2646321.01, with offices at Meydan Grandstand, 6th floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, U.A.E.. 2. Accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create a Life Index account.
• Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms, attempt to abuse the service, or use it unlawfully.

3. Licence to use the App and website

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, and to access the website, for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

• Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile or create derivative works of the App or website;
• Rent, sell, sub-licence or share access to the App to others;
• Use automated tools to scrape or overload the service;
• Use the service to build a competing product.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create in the App (diary entries, goals, habits, notes). You grant us a narrow licence only to store, back up and display that content to you inside the service. We do not use your content for advertising or to train third-party AI models.

Exception — the Media section. Posts and comments you publish in Media are meant for other users, so different rules apply. You keep all rights to that content. By publishing a post or comment you grant us, and the companies in our group that operate the service, a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to: display it to all users of the App and on the post’s page on life-index.com (title, cover image, author name, short excerpt), including in link previews when it is shared; store, back up and technically process it — transcode video and audio, generate cover images and thumbnails; and review it for moderation and in response to reports. The licence lasts while the post is published and ends when you delete it, except for backups and the moderation log, which are kept for the periods stated in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell your content, use it in our own advertising without your consent, or use it to train third-party AI models.

You warrant that you hold all rights to what you publish — including music, images and excerpts of other people’s work — that it breaks no law or third-party right, and that it complies with the Publishing rules. The author is responsible for the content of each post and comment. If a third party brings a claim against us because of your content, you agree to compensate us for the documented losses that result, to the extent permitted by law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

• Break any law or infringe anyone’s rights;
• Upload malware, spam or illegal content;
• Harass, threaten or impersonate others;
• Attempt to interfere with the security or integrity of the service.

6. Orders, payments and delivery

Physical products (book, journal, bundle) are shipped from the UAE. Prices on the site include applicable VAT unless stated otherwise. Shipping times and fees are displayed at checkout. See our Refund Policy for returns.

7. In-app purchases and subscriptions

Any paid features inside the App are billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their standard terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.

8. Not medical advice

Life Index is a lifestyle and self-reflection product. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or mental-health condition. If you are experiencing a medical or mental-health crisis, contact a qualified professional or local emergency services.

9. Intellectual property

All content we provide — text, design, graphics, code, logos and trademarks — is owned by LIFE INDEX L.L.C-FZ or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark laws.

10. Third-party services

Our App and website may link to or integrate with third-party services (Apple, Google, payment providers, hosting providers). We are not responsible for the content or practices of those services. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or always compatible with every device.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Life Index will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) AED 500.

13. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time by deleting your account in the App or writing to us. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if your account is inactive for a long period, or if we stop offering the service. Clauses that are meant to survive termination (IP, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will do so.

14. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the regulations of the Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, U.A.E., without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the competent courts of Dubai, U.A.E.

Nothing in this section removes rights that consumers have under the mandatory laws of their country of residence.

15. Media and paid placement

Media is a feed of user-published content — videos, podcasts, photos and articles. Any App user can read the feed, like posts, save them to “Bookmarks” and share a link. The detailed requirements for posts are set out in the Publishing rules; they form part of these Terms, and we ask you to accept them separately before your first publication.

• Review before publication. A moderator reviews every post before it is shown, usually within 24 hours. Review is free. A rejection comes with a reason, and you can fix and resend the post. We may decline any post that does not meet the Publishing rules.
• Prices. Placement of an approved post is a one-time purchase: $18 without contacts, or $28 with the “Expert contacts” block and links. Lifting a published post back to the top of the feed costs $1, at most once every 24 hours. The current prices are shown in the App before you pay.
• How payment works. You pay only after a moderator approves the post — nothing is charged before that. Placement and lifts are bought as one-time in-app purchases through the App Store or Google Play under the store’s terms. (In Russia payment goes through the YooKassa service, in the App on Android or via a link we email you.) The post goes live automatically once the payment is confirmed. Approval does not expire: an unpaid post waits in My posts, and we may send you an email reminder.
• What placement includes. The placement service is performed when the post appears in the feed. The post then stays in Media indefinitely, until you delete it; newer posts appear above it, and there is no pinning. Editing a published post is free, but the edit goes through review again, and the feed shows the previous version until it is approved.
• Deletion and refunds. You can delete your post at any time; the placement and lift fees are not refunded, because the service has already been performed. If a post did not go live because of a fault on our side or a technical error, write to support@life-index.com — we will publish it or refund you. Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are requested from the store under its policies; refunds for payments made through YooKassa are handled by our support. Users who saved a deleted post to “Bookmarks” see a “Removed by the author” card.
• Comments. Anyone can read comments; writing them requires active access to the App’s paid features (a subscription, a promo code or a trial period), and a post’s author can always reply in their own thread. Comments appear without prior review. Links and website, messenger or email addresses are not allowed in comments. You can delete your own comment at any time.
• Advertising. Hidden advertising disguised as personal experience is not allowed. Where a post with contacts and links is addressed to users in Russia, Russian advertising law treats it as advertising: it is published with an “Ad” label and an erid identifier, which we obtain and report as the platform operator, and you agree to provide accurate advertiser details if we ask for them.
• Reports and blocking. Any post or comment can be reported via the “⋯” menu on the post screen or the “Report” button under a comment. A reported post is hidden from the feed immediately, and a moderator decides within 24 hours. You can block an author so that their posts and comments are no longer shown to you; nothing changes for other readers. We do not disclose who filed a report.
• Our rights. We may remove a published post or comment that breaches these Terms, the Publishing rules or the law, that is the subject of a justified report, or that an app store or an authority requires us to remove; for repeated or serious breaches we may suspend your ability to publish and comment, or close your account. Fees for a post removed for breaching the rules are not refunded.
• Responsibility. Life Index is a platform. We review posts before publication, but we do not endorse the advice in them, verify authors’ qualifications or accept liability for the consequences of following that advice. Media content is not a substitute for advice from a doctor, therapist, lawyer or financial professional.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or inside the App. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the new Terms.
